THROWS LIKE A GIRL: ROBBIE MCCAULEY'S PERFORMANCES CANCELLED

Due to a family emergency, Robbie McCauley has had to cancel her trip to Austin. Rather than scramble to replace her, we've decided to put Throws Like A Girl to bed for the year. Our deep apologies to those of you who had already purchased tickets and our wild gratitude to all of you who came out to see Reno and Kristina Wong.
In particular we'd like to thank Green Mango Real Estate and Austin Motel for their generous sponsorship of this festival. Through their contributions, they play a huge part in Rude Mechs' efforts to elevate women's contributions to theatre in America by bringing these artists to Austin.
We'd love your feedback. You can make your comments here or email us directly at info@rudemechs.com.

A BATHHOUSE is a place of coded imagery....., silent suggestion, slow steam rising out of wooden tubs and bubbles dripping down your legs, a pink hue and disco balls, low sweaty ceilings, rollerskates!, tents glowing feverishly, the noises within! leather, denim, satin, spandex, felt!glittering queens of the night, torch songs and showtunes, disco!, transgressions of the flesh! bodywork and haircuts, a surreal transport into the pre-viral era of corporal abandon!! and yes there will be Dancing!

and come to see the most astonishing of featured entertainers, a desperate vessel of frenzy and fiction, a careen from the depths, called DYNASTY HANDBAG!, joining us from NEW YORK CITY, where everything always begins....

please check her out on the i-net at: dynastyhandbag.com

also on the stage will be REBECCA HAVEMEYER and STANLEY ROY, plus several local low level drag personalities also in search of attention.

dancing, dancing, dancing, okay?

PLEASE ALSO CHECK OUT THIS AMAZING PERFORMER AND HER ONE-WOMAN SHOW AT THE VORTEX:

Dynasty Handbag "Foo Foo Yik Yik": here's what the NY Times recently said about her:
Next came Jibz Cameron's "Bags," one of the most insanely funny, tone-perfect pieces of performance art I have seen in years. Also known as Dynasty Handbag, Ms. Cameron has a wonderful, jaggedly expressive face, which here registered just about every emotion known to womankind in a series of encounters with four talking bags on the floor. It was performed to her own score and music by theRolling Stones. One brown paper bag was ferociously sex-starved, while a black deli bag, was grouchily unable to make up its mind. A blue plastic shopping bag was a friendly old Cockney gal who became suicidal when faced with being alone again. Finally Ms. Cameron met a chatty, motherly small plastic purse, the most pallid of the personalities, that contained a peanut butter sandwich for the weary wanderer.
A devastating, deranged, feminist, livid, comic!! at the Vortex Theater 478-5282 Saturday 2/23 8pm $6. Dont miss it!!!
