Rude Summer - Time to update!

Wow - so it's been since May, huh? Yeesh. Not gonna get fancy with this one, just the facts.

Since we closed I've Never Been So Happy at The Off Center last May, in reverse order...

October
We are currently touring I've Never Been So Happy to Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theater.
The cast / crew of I've Never Been So Happy on dinner break.

We are currently rehearsing The B. Beaver Animation by Mabou Mines - the second installment in our Contemporary Classics series. This show opens October 27th - don't miss it!

We are currently planning a tour of Dionysus in 69 to Princeton in December, and The Method Gun to Brisbane, Australia (yes!) in February.

We are currently planning the production of our  newest, yet to be titled play, coming to The Off Center in February, and then probably again in May!

September

We toured The Method Gun to Philadelphia Live Arts festival and Portland Institute for Contemporary Arts' TBA festival.
We hosted the launch Oyster Club Party at the Plant!
We received B. Iden Payne nominations for "Outstanding Production", "Outstanding Direction", "Outstanding Light Design", "Outstanding Original Script", "Outstanding Original Score", "Outstanding Media Design", and "Outstanding Cast Performance."
We had our City of Austin funding restored, which luckily made up for the flop that was The Lazy Eye Ball.
We were awarded a National Theatre Company grant by American Theatre Wing.

August
We hosted The Lazy Eye Ball (the non-event of the century that proved to raise the least amount of donations as any Eye Ball in history... live and learn).
We hosted the kick-off Happy Hour for The Oyster Club 2011/2012 season.

July
We hosted Grrl Action and produced the work many talented young women at The Off Center.

June
We toured The Method Gun to Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theater. Mr. Douglas was in attendance! He chose truth.
I've Never Been So Happy garnered awards for "Production of a Musical", "Music Direction", "The David Mark Cohen New Play Award", and " Ensemble Performance" from the 2011 Austin Critics Table.
We underwent our annual audit and passed.
